Gujarati Typist, Class-III (in the Office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission) Recruitment Rules, 1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of all previous rules made in this behalf the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Gujarati Typist, Class-III in the office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission, namely 1. . :- These rules may be called the Gujarati Typist, Class-III (in the Office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission) Recruitment Rules, 1999 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Gujarati Typist, Class-III, in the Office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission shall be made either (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked continuously for not less than four years in Class-IV service in the office of Gujarat Public Service Commission, and who possess qualifications as prescribed in Rule 4(b) and a certificate from the Gujarat State Examination Board certifying that he/she possesses the minimum typing speed of 20 words per minute in Gujarati; or (b) by direct selection on the basis of the result of the competitive examination held by the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board. 3. . :- Appointment by direct selection and by promotion shall be made in the ratio of 8:2 respectively. 4. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 18 years of age and not be more than 28 years of age; (b) have passed the Secondary School Certificate Examination or an equivalent examination recognised by the Government. 5. . :- The candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of one year. 6. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to pass the examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed in that behalf by the Government from time to time.
