Rule Hamal (Class-IV) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf except things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Hamal (Panchayat Service), Class-IV namely: 1. Rule :- These rules may be called the Hamal (Class-IV) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. Rule :- Appointment to the post of Hamal (Class-IV) (Panchayat Service), shall be made by direct selection. 3. Rule :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 18 years and not more than 25 years of age; (b) have good physique; (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 4. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as mav be prescribed bv the Government.
