Be it enacted by Parliament in the Sixty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short Title And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2011. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 10th day of May, 2011. 2. Amendment Of Section 3A Of Act 102 Of 1956 :- In section 3 A of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in sub-section (2), for the words "one year", the words "two years" shall be substituted. 3. Repeal And Saving :- (1) The Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2011, is hereby repealed. ( 2 ) Notwithstanding the repeal of the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2011, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act. as amended by this Act.
