Amendment Indian Police Service (Pay) Amendment Rules, 2008 [29 July 2008] In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the All India Services Act, 1951 (LXI of 1951) read with Rule 11 of the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 1954, the Central Government, after consultation with the Government of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following Rules further to amend the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 1954, namely:- 1. Short Title And Commencement :- (1) These rules may be called the Indian Police Service (Pay) Amendment Rules, 2008. (2) Save as otherwise provided in these rules, they shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment :- In "Schedule III-B -Posts carrying pay in the Senior Scale of the Indian Police Service under the State Government (including posts carrying Special Pay in addition to pay in time scale)" in the Table, for the entry "Tamil Nadu" occurring in the first column and the corresponding entries in the second column, the following shall be substituted: Addl. Inspector General of Police -Admn., Chennai Addl. Inspector General of Police--Hqrs., Chennai By Assistant Inspector General of Police Admn., Chennai Assistant Inspector General of Police Hqrs., Chennai (These rules have been made effective from 18th May, 2007, as amendments are to be made effective from the date of publication of the original notification i.e. 18th May, 2007.)
