Amendment Of Section 2 Of Act Ii Of 1899 Indian Stamp (Assam Amendment) Act, 1968 10 of 1968 [29 May 1968] An Act further to amend the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, in its application to Assam. Whereas it is expedient to amend the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, hereinafter called the principal Act, in its application to Assam, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Nineteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows-- 1. Published in the Assam Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 1st June, 1968. 1. Short Title, Extent And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Indian Stamp (Assam Amendment) Act, 1968. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once1. 1. It shall come in to force at once i.e. 1st June, 1968. 2. Amendment Of Section 2 Of Act Ii Of 1899 :- In Section 2 of the principal Act, after clause (7), the following shall be inserted, namely-- "(8) Chief Controlling Revenue authority means the Superintendent of Stamps, Assam".
