Jobber-cum-Mechanic (Class III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Jobber-cum-Mechanic (Class III), (Panchayat Service), namely: 1. 1. :- These rules may be called the Jobber-cum-Mechanic (Class III), (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. 2. :- Appointment to the post of Jobber-cum-Mechanic (Class III), (Panchayat Service) shall be made by direct selection. 3. 3. :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 18 years and not more than 28 years of age; (b) (i) have passed the Secondary School Certificate examination or an equivalent examination recognised by the Government. (ii) possess a certificate in the concerned trade from an Industrial Training Institute or an institution recognised by the Government or an equivalent qualification; (iii) have two years practical experience of trade concerned: (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 4. 4. :- A selected candidate shall be on probation for a period of one year. 5. 5. :- A selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training for such period and pass such post-training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 6. 6. :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. 7. :- A selected candidate shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond for such amount, in such form and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
