Permit fee KARNATAKA EXCISE (PERMIT FEE) RULES, 1990 Whereas the draft of the following rules the Karnataka Excise (Permit Fee) Rules, 1990, was published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 71, of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966), in Notification No. HD 4 PES 90, dated 23rd March, 1990 in Part IV, Section 2C(i) of the Karnataka Gazette, Extraordinary, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby on or before 31st day of March,1990. And, whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 23rdMarch, 1990. And, whereas, the objections and suggestions received within the period specified above have been considered. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966), the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules namely: 1. Title and commencement :- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Excise (Permit Fee) Rules, 1990. (2) They shall come into force with effect from the first day of April, 1990. 2. Definitions :- In these rules unless the context otherwise requires, (a) "Act" means the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965. (b) "Rules" means the rules framed under the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965. (c) "Permit" means the permit issued under the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 or in any of the rules framed thereunder. 3. Permit fee :- (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any other rules made under this Act, there shall be levied a fee of 1 [rupees one hundred] in respect of every permit issued. (2) Every person who applies for a permit shall produce alongwith the application a challan for having credited the permit fee. 1.
