Manner of publication of declaration under Sections 257 and 258 KARNATAKA MUNICIPALITIES (PUBLICATION OF DECLARATION REGARDING USL OF CERTAIN AREAS FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES) RULES, 1967 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 257 and sub-section (3) of Section 258 read with Section 328 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 22 of 1964), the Government of Karnataka, hereby makes the Karnataka Municipalities (Publication of declaration regarding use of certain areas for certain purposes) Rules, 1967, the draft of the same having been published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 323 of the said Act in Notification No. LMA 43 MLR 66, dated 9th November, 1966, published as GSR 1227 in Part IV, Section 2-C(i) of the Karnataka Gazette dated 17th November, 1966, namely. 1. Title :- These rules may be called the Karnataka Municipalities (Publication of Declaration Regarding Use of Certain Areas for Certain Purposes) Rules, 1967. 2. Definitions :- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires. (i) "Act" means the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 . (ii) "Section" means a section of the Act. 3. Manner of publication of declaration under Sections 257 and 258 :- Every declaration under sub-section (3) of Section 257 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 and every declaration under sub-section (3) of Section 258 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 shall be published by. (a) affixing copies thereof on the notice board of the office of the Municipal Council and its sub-offices, if any; (b) exhibiting copies thereof in municipal reading rooms and places considered by the Municipal Council to be conspicuous within the municipality; and (c) publication in the Official Gazette.
