Laboratory Assistant (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 2002 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Laboratory Assistant (Class-III) (Panchayat Service), namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Laboratory Assistant (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 2002. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Laboratory Assistant, (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) shall be made by direct selection. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post- mentioned in Rule 2 a candidate shall (a) not be less than 18 years and not more than 25 years of age; (b) have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate or an equivalent examination with English, Physics and Chemistry; (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi: Provided that preference shall be given to a candidate possessing experience of Laboraotry Work and has passed the Laboratory Technicians Training Course conducted by a recognised institution or from a recognised Medical College in the State of Gujarat. 4. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of one year. 5. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to undergo such training for such period and to pass such post- training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 6. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to furnish security and surety bond for such amount in such form and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government. (d) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 4. A selected candidate shall be on probation for a period of six months. 5. A selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training for such period and pass such post training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 6. A selected candidate shall be required to pass an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. A selected candidate shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond for such amount, in such form and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
