Rule Laboratory Technician (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Leboratory Technician (Class-III) (Panchayat Service), namely, 1. Rule :- These rules may be called the Laboratory Technician (Class- III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. Rule :- Appointment to the post of Laboratory Technician (Class III) (Panchayat Service) shall be made by direct selection. 3. Rule :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 21 years and not more than 28 years of age; (b) (i) possess a Bachelor's degree in Science with Chemistry or Microbiology as the principal subject or Master degree in Science with Organic Chemistry or Microbiology subject; (ii) have passed the Laboratory Technicians' Training course of an institution recognised by the Government. Preference shall be given to a candidate having a Malaria Laboratory Technician's Course completion certificate of an institution recognised by the Government. (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 4. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be on probation for a period of one year. 5. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training for such period and to pass such post training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 6. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to furnish a securety and surity bond in such form for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
