Amendment of Section 1, Central Act 18 of 1885 LAND ACQUISITION (MINES) (ANDHRA PRADESH EXTENSION AND AMENDMENT) ACT, 1965 5 of 1965 [24 February, 1965] An Act to extend the Land Acquisition (Mines) Act, 1885 (Central Act 18 of 1885) to certain territories in the State of Andhra Pradesh and further to amend it in its application to that State. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Sixteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- This Act may be called the Land Acquisition (Mines) Andhra Pradesh Extension and Amendment) Act, 1965. (2) It extends to the whole of the States of Andhra Pradesh. 2. Definitions :- In this Act, "transferred territories" means the territories specified in sub section (1) of Section 3 of the States Re organisation Act, 1956 (Central Act 37 of 1956). 3. Extension of Central Act 18 of 1885 to transferred territories :- The Land Acquisition (Mines) Act, 1885 (Central Act 18 of 1885) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), as in force at the commencement of this Act in the territories of the State of Andhra Pradesh other than the transferred territories and as amended by Section 4, is hereby extended to, and shall be in force in, the transferred territories. 4. Amendment of Section 1, Central Act 18 of 1885 :- In sub section (2) of Section 1 of the principal Act, after the expression " except the territories which, immediately before the 1 s t November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States" the expression "other than the territories specified in sub section (1) of Section 3 of the States Re organisation Act, 1956 (Central Act 37 of 1956)" shall be added.
