Removal of doubts LEPERS (GUJARAT REPEAL) ACT, 1990 4 of 1990 [] An Act to repeal the Lepers Act. 1898 in its application to the State of Gujarat It is hereby enacted in the Forty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Lepers (Gujarat Repeal) Act, 1990. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may. by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. 2. Repeal of Act III of 1898 :- On the date of commencement of the Act. the Lepers Act. 1898 (III of 1898), in its application to the State of Gujarat, shall stand repealed. 3. Removal of doubts :- For the removal of doubts, it is hereby declared that on and from the commencement of this Act any person detained in any leper asylum in any part of the State of Gujarat under the repealed Act shall stand discharged, and any restriction imposed on him by or under that Act on his movement to or from any local area or from following any trade or calling shall also stand annulled.
