Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Madras Probation of Offenders Act, 1936 (Madras Act III of 1937), for the purpose hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows:-- 1. Short title :- This Act may be called the Madras Probation of Offenders (Amendment) Act, 1947. 2. [Omitted] :- 1[ * * * * ] 1. Section 2 was repealed by Madras Act XI of 1952. 3. Appointments made before the commencement of this Act validated :- All probation officers appointed before the commencement of this Act by any person authorized by the State Government shall be deemed to have been validly appointed.
