I Of 1977 Maharashtra Legislature Members Pension (Amendment) Act, 2008 24 of 2008 [12 May 2008] An Act further to amend the Maharashtra Legislature Members' Pension Act, 1976. WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Maharashtra Legislature Members' Pension Act, 1976(Mah. I of 1977.), for the purposes hereinafter appearing; it is hereby enacted in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows :-- 1. Short Title And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Legislature Members Pension (Amendment) Act, 2008. (2) It shall come into force with effect from the 1st May 2008. 2. Amendment Of Section 3 Of Mah. I Of 1977 :- In section 3 of the Maharashtra Legislature Members Pension Act, 1976(Mah. I of 1977) (hereinafter referred to as " the principal Act"), in sub-section (1),-- (a) for the words " eight thousand rupees " the words " ten thousand rupees " shall be substituted ; (b) in the first proviso, for the words "five hundred rupees" the words "seven hundred fifty rupees " shall be substituted. 3. Amendment Of Section 4A Of Mah. I Of 1977 :- In section 4A of the principal Act,-- (a) in sub-section (2),-- (i) for the words, letters and figures "the 1st day of April 2007" the words, letters and figures " the 1st May 2008" shall be substituted ; (ii) for the words " rupees four thousand " the words, " rupees five thousand" shall be substituted ; (b) in sub-section (2A),--- (i) for the words, letters and figures " the 1st day of April 2007" the words, letters and figures "the 1st May 2008" shall be substituted ; (ii) for the words " rupees four thousand " the words " rupees five thousand" shall be substituted ; (c) in sub-section (2B), for the words, figures and letters " the 1st April 2007, at the rate of rupees four thousand per month" the words, figures and letters " the 1st May 2008, at the rate of rupees five thousand per month" shall be substituted.
