Malaria Supervisor (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 227 read with section 274 of the Gujarat Panchayat Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Malaria Supervisor (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) namely :- 1. 1. :- These rules may be called the Malaria Supervisor (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. 2. :- Appointment to the post of Malaria Supervisor (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) shall be made (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked for not less than five years in the cadre of Malaria Technician (Class III), (Panchayat Service); or (b) by direct selection. 3. 3. :- The appointment by direct selection and promotion shall be made in the ratio of 1:4. 4. 4. :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall- (a) not be less than 21 years and not more than 28 years of age; (b) possess a Bachelor's degree in Science with Zoology, Microbiology or Botony as main subject established by law in India or deemed to be University as per the provisions of section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956); (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi: Provided that preference shall be given to a candidate possessing supervisory experience in the field work : Provided further that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who possesses exceptionally good qualification or experience or both. 5. 5. :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of one year. 6. 6. :- A candidate appointed either by direct selection or by promotion shall be required to pass the Departmental Examination and an examination in Hindi or Gujarati or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government. 7. 7. :- A candidate appointed either by direct selection or by promotion shall have to undergo such training as may be prescribed by the Government. 8. 8. :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond for such amount in such form and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
