In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Mazdoors (Class-IV) (Panchayat Service) namely: 1. Rule :- These rules may be called the Mazdoors (Class-IV) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1999. 2. Rule :- Appointment to the cost of Mazdoors (Class-IV) (Panchayat Service) shall be made by direct selection. 3. Rule :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 18 years and not more than 25 years of age; (b) have passed fourth standard examination. (c) possess good physique with the height of not less than 162 cms and a minimum chest measurement of 79 cms deflated.
