Repeal And Saving Motor Vehicles (Uttar Pradesh Amendment) Act, 1989 8 of 1989 An Act further to amend the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939 in its application to Uttar Pradesh It is hereby enacted in the Fortieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Received the assent of the Governor on March 20, 1989 and published in the U.P. Gazette, Extra., Part-1, Section (ka), dated 20th March, 1989, pp. 2-3. 1. Short Title, Extent And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Motor Vehicles (Uttar Pradesh Amendment) Act, 1989. (2) It extends to the whole of Uttar Pradesh. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on January 7, 1989. 2. Amendment Of Section 68-F Of Act No. 4 Of 1939 :- In Section 68-F of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, after sub-section (1-E), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely :-- "(1-F) It shall be lawful for a State Transport undertaking to operate on any route as stage carriage, under any permit issued therefor to such undertaking under sub-section (1), any vehicle placed at the disposal and under the domain and control of such undertaking by t h e owner of such vehicle under an arrangement entered into between such owner and undertaking for the use of the said vehicle by the undertaking." 3. Repeal And Saving :- (1) The Motor Vehicles (Uttar Pradesh Amendment) Ordinance, 1989 (U.P. Ordinance No. 2 of 1989), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the provisions of the principal Act, as amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (1), shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the principal Act, as amended by this Act, as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
