Mukhya Sevika, Class-III (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 2004 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Mukhya Sevika, Class-III, in the Panchayat Service, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Mukhya Sevika, Class-III (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 2004. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Mukhya Sevika, Class III, in the Panchayat Service shall be made either by direct selection or by nomination from amongst the Anganwadi Workers. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall, (a) not be less than 18 years and not more than 28 years of age; (b) possess Bachelor's degree in Home Science or Child Development or Nutrition of a University established by law in India or deemed to be a university as per the provisions of Sec. 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (Act 3 of 1956); (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 4. . :- To be eligible for appointment by nomination from amongst the Anganwadi Workers to the post mentioned in Rule 2 above, a candidate shall, (a) not be more than 45 years of age; (b) have passed Secondary School Certificate Examination with eleventh month's training of Bal Sevika and have at least ten years experience as an Anganwadi worker under the integrated Child Development Services Programme; (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 5. . :- The nomination shall be made by the Gujarat District Panchayat Service Selection Committee. 6. . :- Appointment by direct selection and by nomination from amongst the Anganwadi Workers shall be made in the ratio of 1:1. 7. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of one year. 8. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to undergo such training and pass such post training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 9. . :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 10. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection or by nomination shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond in such form, for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
