Overseer (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 2000 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Overseer, (Class-Ill) (Panchayat Service), namely 1. . :- These rules may be called the Overseer (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 2000. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Overseer (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) shall be made by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked as Work Assistant (Class III) (Panchayat Service) for not less than five years and have passed the professional, departmental or any other examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 3. . :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Hindi or Gujarati or both as may be prescribed by the Government.
