POLICE CONSTABLE (WOMAN BRANCH) CLASS-HI, IN THE GUJARAT SUB-ORDINATE SERVICE, IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, RECRUITMENT RULES, 1993 In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 5 of the Bombay police Act, 1951 (Bom. XXII of 1951) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Police Constable (Woman Branch) class- Ill in the Gujarat subordinate service, in the Police Department, namely 1. . :- These rules may be called the Police Constable (Woman Branch) class-Ill, in the Gujarat Sub-ordinate Service, in the Police Department, Recruitment Rules, 1993. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Police Constable (Woman Branch) class- Ill, in the Gujarat Subordinate Service, in the Police Department shall be made by direct selection. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned-in rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be more than thirty years of age: Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed upto five years in case of a candidate belong to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or Socially and Educationally Backward Classes of Gujarat origin; (b) have passed the Secondary School Certificate Examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board or its equivalent examination; (c) not be less than 150 centimeters in height (145 centimeters in case of candidate belonging to Scheduled Tribes of Gujarat origin); (d) have weight not less than 45 kilograms; (e) possesses adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi: Provided that prefrence may be given to a candidate knowing- (I) driving of light or Heavy motor vehicles and possessing a driving licence of the same; or (ii) either English or Gujarati typing prefereably Gujarati typing with speed of not less than 20 words per minute and possessing Government Commercial Certificate awarded by the State Examination Board; or Swimming; or Cycling. 4. . :- A selected candidate shall be on probation for a period of two years. 5. . :- A selected candidate shell have to undergo such training and pass the examination during the probation period as may be prescribed by the government from time to time. 6. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Hindi or Gujarati or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government from time to time. 7. . :- A selected candidate who will be imparted training at the Government cost shall be required to serve the Government for a period of three years and shall be required to execute a security and surety bonds for and such amount for such period as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time.
