RULE Police Sub Inspector (Wireless) Recruitment Rules, 1991. In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of Section 5 of the Bombay Police Act, 1951 (Bombay XX II of 1951), and in supersession of all orders or (and) rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Police Sub Inspector (Wirelesa) in the Gujarat Police Wireless Organisation in police subordinate services class III, namely: 1. RULE :- These rules may be called the Police Sub Inspector (Wireless) Recruitment Rules, 1991. 2. RULE :- Appointment to the post of Police Sub Inspector (Wireless) in the Gujarat Police Wireless Organisation in police subordinate services class III shall be made either: (a) by promotion of a person on the basis of seniority-cum-merit from amongst the persons who- (i) have worked for not less than five years in the cadre of Radio operator (Head Constable Grade-I) or Radio Technician (Head Constable Grade-I), or (b) by direct selection: Provided that where an appointing authority is satisfied that a person having an experience specified in clause (a) is not available for promotion and that it is in public interest, to fill up the post by promotion of a person having experience for a lesser period, it may for reasons to be recorded in writing promote such person who possesses experience for a period not less than two thirds of the period specified in clause (a) above. 3. RULE :- The appointment by direct selection and promotion shall be made in the ratio of 1:1. 4. RULE :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in rule 2, a candidate shall, (a) not be less than 20 years of and more than 30 years of age; (b) possess (i) Higher Secondary School Certificate with physics or science. (ii) Diploma in Electronics and Radio Engineering or equivalent qualification of recognised Technical Institute or University: Provided that preference may be given to a candidate having higher qualifications or a candidate possessing certificate of Wireless Telegraphy in addition to the above qualification. (c) possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi; Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate, who possesses exceptionally good qualifications or experience or both: Provided further that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who is already, in the service of Government of Gujajat. and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or Socially and educationally backward classes in accordance with the provision of Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, as amended from time to time. 5. RULE :- The candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of two years. 6. RULE :- The selected candidate shall be required to pass departmental examination; if any, and aa examination in Hindi or Gujarati or both in accordance with the rules prescribed in that behalf by the Government from time to time. 7. RULE :- A candinate appointed by direct selection or by promotion shall have to undergo such training and pass such examinations as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time. 8. RULE :- The selected candidate shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond for such amount and for such period as may be determined by Government from time to time.
