POLICE WIRELESS INSPECTOR RECRUITMENT RULES, 1982 In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 5 of the Bombay Police Act, 1951 and in supersession of all orders and rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules regulating recruitment to the post of Police Wireless Inspector in Gujarat Police Service Class-II of Police Department, namely 1. . :- These rules may be called the Police Wireless Inspector Recruitment Rules, 1982. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Police Wireless Inspector in Gujarat Police Service Class-II in Police Department shall be made either (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the Police Sub-Inspector (Engineering) and (Traffic), who has served at least for 3 years as such; or (b) by direct selection. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in rule 2, a candidate shall (i) (a) not be less than 22 years and not more than 35 years of age: Provided that the age limit may be relaxed in respect of persons possessing exceptionally good qualification and or experiences: Provided further that the upper age limit may be relaxed in case of a candidate already in the service of Government of Gujarat in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 as amended from time to time; (b) possess (i) bachelor's degree in Science with Physics as one of the subjects and must have successfully completed post Graduate course in Radio Engineering or possess other equivalent qualification in Radio Engineering, or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication or Radio Engineering of a recognised University or an equivalent qualification; (ii) possess certificate of competency for Wireless operators issued by Government of India or an equivalent qualification, (iii) possess experience of about 3 years in the maintenance of Wireless equipments, and (iv) possess a minimum height of 168 Cms. and a minimum chest of 79 Cms. when deflated: Provided that the educational qualification may be relaxed in the case of Commissioned Officers of Defense Forces who have put in not less then 3 years service in communication Organisation like singles etc. 4. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of two years. 5. . :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass examination in Gujarat or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government from time to time.
