RADIO OPERATOR (HEAD CONSTABLE GRADE-I) RECRUITMENT RULES, 1992 In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 5 of the Bombay Police Act, 1951 and the supersession of any orders or rules made in this behalf, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Radio Operator (Head Constable Grade-I) in th Gujarat Police Wireless Organisation in Police Subordinate Service Class-III, Gujarat State, Namely 1. . :- These rules may be called the Radio Operator (Head Constable Grade-I) Recruitment Rules, 1992. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Radio Operator (Head Constable Grade- I) in the Gujarat Police Wireless Organisation in Police Subordinate Service Class III, shall be made either: - (a) by direct selection, or (b) by transfer of a suitable Police personnel having atleast 2 years service and possessing any of the educational qualifications prescribed in rule-3. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in rule 2, a candidate shall, (a) not less more than 30 years of age; (b) have passed the Secondary School Certificate examination or its equivalent examination; (c) possess the National Trade Certificate in the trade of Wireless Operator awarded by the Department of Employment and Training or its equivalent; or (d) have undergone the basic wireless operator's Training in different services and obtained a proficiency of Class II signals or its equivalent; (e) possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both: Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate, possessing exceptionally good qualification or experience or both: Provided further that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who is already in the service of the Government of Gujarat and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or Socially and Educationally Backward Classes in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, as amended from time to time: Provided also that preference may be given to a candidate knowing typing and possessing the certificate in Radio Servicing. 4. . :- A candidate appointed shall be on probation for a period of one year. 5. . :- A candidate appointed shall be required to pass the departmental examination, if any, and as exariination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government in that behalf from time to time. 6. . :- The candidate appointed either by direct selection or by transfer shall have to undergo such training as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time. 7. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to furnish security and security and surety bond for such amount and for such period as may be determined by the Government from time to time.
