Section Officer, Class-II, Recruitment Rules, 2000 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Section Officer in the State Service, Class-II, in the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Government of Gujarat, New Delhi, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Section Officer, Class-II, Recruitment Rules, 2000. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Section Officer in the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Government of Gujarat, New Delhi, in the State Service, Class-II shall be made either (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked for not less than seven years as Assistant or Parliament Assistant or Protocol Assistant in the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Government of Gujarat, New Delhi and have passed the prescribed departmental examination; or (b) by deputation from amongst the persons working on the equivalent post in the State Services.
