Senior Assistant, Class-III, Recruitment Rules, 2005 In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India, and in supersession of all the existing rules made in this behalf, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules for regulating recruitment to the post of the Senior Assistant, Class III, in the subordinate service in the office of the Collector of Electricity Duty, namely:- 1. . :- These rules may be called the Senior Assistant, Class III, Recruitment Rules, 2005. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Senior Assistant shall be made either: (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the person who (i) have worked for not less than five years in the cadre of Junior Assistant, Class III, in the subordinate service of the office of the Collector of Electricity Duty; and (ii) have passed the qualifying examination for computer knowledge as may be prescribed by Government from time to time : Provided that where the appointing authority is satisfied that a person having an experience Specified above is not available for promotion and that it is necessary in the public interest to fill up the post by promotion of a person having an experience for a lesser period, it may, for reasons to be recorded in writing, promote such person who possess an experience for a period not less than two third of the period specified above, or (b) by direct selection 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be more than 28 years of age; (b) possess a degree of any of the University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institute established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Sec. 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Government for this purpose; (c) possess the basic knowledge of computer application equivalent to course on computer concepts (ccc) of Department of Electronic Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) society or of the level as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time. (d)possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both : Provided further that the upper age limit may also be relaxed in favour of a candidate who, posseses exceptionally good qualification or experience or both: Provided further that the upper age limit may also be relaxed in favour of a candidate who is already in the service of the Government of Gujarat, in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services Classifications and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. 4. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation of a period of one year. 5. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to pass an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government in that behalf. 6. . :- The selected candidate shall have to undergo such training and to pass such examination if any as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond in such form, for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government
