Rule Senior Clerk (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Senior Clerk (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) namely: 1. Rule :- These rules may be called the Senior Clerk (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. Rule :- Appointment to the post of Senior Clerk (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) shall be made by promotion of p person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked for not less than five years as Junior Clerk (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) or English Typist (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) or Gujarati Typist (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) or Computer (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) or Assistant Storekeeper and have passed the prescribed departmental examination. 3. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training for such period and pass the post training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 4. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass an examination in Hindi or Gujarati or both as may be prescribed by the Government.
