Senior Library Clerk, Class-III, Recruitment Rules, 1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Senior Library Clerk, Class-III in the officer of the Gujarat Public Service Commission, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Senior Library Clerk, Class-III, Recruitment Rules, 1999. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Senior Library, Clerk Class-III in the office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission shall be made by direct selection. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be more than 25 years of age. (b) Possess: (i) a certificate of the Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Gujarat Secondary School Certificate Examination Board or its equivalent qualification; (ii) a certificate in Library Science of recognised University; (iii) One year experience in a Library work after obtaining the certificate. Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who possesses exceptionally good qualifications or experience or both. Provided further that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of candidate who is already in the service of the Government of Gujarat in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. Provided also that preference may be given to a candidate who possess execeptionally good qualification or experience or both. 4. . :- The selected candidate shall be on probation for a period of one year. 5. . :- The selected candidate shall be requiring to pass an examination in Hindi or Gujarati or both in accordance with the rules preserved by the Government in that behalf. 6. . :- A selected candidate shall have to under go such training as may be preservided by the Government. 7. . :- A selected candidate shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
