Senior Pharmacist, Class III, Recruitment Rules, 2003 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Senior Pharmacist, Class III, under the Directorate of Medical Services, Employees' State Insurance Scheme, Gujarat State, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Senior Pharmacist, Class III, Recruitment Rules, 2003. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Senior Pharmacist, Class III, under the Directorate of Medical Services Employees' State Insurance Scheme shall be made either: (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked for not less than five years as Junior Pharmacist, Class-Ill, under the Directorate of Medical Services, Employees' State Insurance Scheme, or (b) by direct selection. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) be not more than 30 years of age; (b) posses (i) Bachelors in Pharmacy Degree of University established by law in India or a deemed University as provided in Sec. 3 of the University Grant Commission Act, 1956 with 2 years experience or Diploma in Pharmacy of University established by law in India or a deemed University as provided in Sec. 3 of the University Grant Commission Act, 1956 with 5 years experience. (ii) adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both. (c) be registered under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 : Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate possessing exceptionally good qualification or experience or both; 4. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to pass an examination in Hindi or Gujarati or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government in that behalf. 5. . :- A. candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of one year. 6. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. . :- A candidate appointed to the post, shall, if so required be liable to serve in any Defence Service or post connected with Defence of India, for a period of not less than four years including the period if any spent on training; and he (i) shall not be required to serve as aforesaid after the expiry of ten years from the date of his appointment and (ii) shall not ordinarily be required to serve as aforesaid after attaining the age of forty five years. 8. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond in such form, for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government in that behalf.
