SUGAR EXPORT PROMOTION (APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF PONDICHERRY) ORDER, 1961 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 4 of the Foreign Jurisdiction Act, 1947 (47 of 1947) and of all other powers enabling in this behalf, the Central Government here by makes the following Order, namely: - 1. . :- (1) This Older may be called the Sugar Export Promotion. (Application to the State of Pondicherry) Order, 1961. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. . :- (1) The provisions of the Sugar Export Promotion Act, 1958 (30 of 1958) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), are hereby applied to, and shall be in force in, the State of Pondicherry (hereinafter referred to as the said State) subject to - (a) any amendments to which the said Act is for the time being generally subject in the territories of which it extends, and (b) the subsequent provisions of this Order. 3. . :- Reference in the said Act to the State Government or to a law not in force, or to any functionary not in existence in the said State, shall be construed as a reference to the Central Government or to the corresponding law, if any, in force or to the corresponding functionary in existence, in the said State, as the case may be: Provided that if any question arises as to who such corresponding functionary is, the decision of the Central Government thereon shall be final.
