Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Received the Assent of the Governor of Tamil Nadu on the May 24, 2007 -- Published in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, Part IV, Section 2, Iss. No. 137, page 39, dated May 24, 2007. 2. Vide L.A. Bill No.16 of 2007 as introduced in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on May 9, 2007 -- Published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, Part IV, Section 1, Issue No.114, pages 70-71, dated May 8, 2007. 1. Short Title And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Amendment Act, 2007. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint. 2. Substitution Of Section 29 :- For Section 29 of the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 33 of 1982), the following Section shall be substituted, namely:-- "29. Power to amend Schedule.-- The Government may by notification, modify any Item of the Schedule or add to the Schedule, any employment in respect of which it is of opinion that the provisions of this Act should apply and the provisions of this Act shall thereupon apply to such employment as modified or added.".
