Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1.Received the Assent of the Governor of Tamil Nadu on February 19, 2008 -- Published in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, Part IV, Section 2, Iss. No.55, page 25, dated February 21, 2008. PART 1 PRELIMINARY 1. Short Title And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Municipal Laws (Amendment) Act, 2008. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint. PART 2 AMENDMENT TO THE CHENNAI CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1919 2. Omission Of Sections 43-A And 358-A :- In the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919 (Tamil Nadu Act IV of 1919), Sections 43-A and 358-A shall be omitted. PART 3 AMENDMENT TO THE MADURAI CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1971 3. Omission Of Sections 45-A And 443-A :- In the Madurai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1971 (Tamil Nadu Act 15 of 1971), Sections 45-A and 443-A shall be omitted. PART 4 AMENDMENT TO THE COIMBATORE CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1981 4. Omission Of Sections 47-A And 442-A :- In the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981), Sections 47-A and 442-A shall be omitted. PART 5 AMENDMENT TO THE TAMIL NADU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITIES ACT, 1920 5. Omission Of Sections 40-Bb And 314-A :- In the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920 (Tamil Nadu Act V of 1920), Sections 40-BB and 314-A shall be omitted.
