Definitions 2A. 2A 3. 3 TELECOM REGULATORY AUTHORITY OF INDIA (MISCELLANEOUS) RULES, 1999 In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of Section 35 read with clause (h) of sub-section (2) of that section of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :- 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) These rules may be called the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Miscellaneous) Rules, 1999. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Definitions :- In these rules,- (a) "Act" means the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997); (b) Words and expressions used in these rules shall have the same meaning respectively assigned to them in the Act. 2A. 2A :- 1 In the matter of creation of posts and appointments relating to the officers and other employees of Authority, the Authority shall follow the principles and pattern contained in the rules and guidelines applicable to the equivalent posts in the Central Government and the provisions in the budgetary allocation of the Authority. 1.
