Telephone Operator (Class III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Telephone Operator (Class III) (Panchayat Service), namely: 1. 1. :- These rules may be called the Telephone Operator (Class III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. 2. :- Appointment to the post of Telephone Operator (Class III) (Panchayat Service), shall be made by direct selection. 3. 3. :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 18 years and not more than 25 years of age; (b) (i) have passed Secondary School Certificate Examination or its equivalent examination; (ii) have an experience as Telephone Operator for a period of not less than two years in a Government recognised institution. (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi. 4. 4. :- A selected candidate shall be on probation for a period of one year. 5. 5. :- A selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training for such period and pass such post-training examination in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government. 6. 6. :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government. 7. 7. :- A selected candidate shall be required to furnish security and surety bond in such form for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
