Repeal And Saving Uttar Pradesh Electricity (Duty) (Amendment) Act, 1984 11 of 1985 An Act further to amend the Uttar Pradesh Electricity (Duty) Act, 1952 It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows :-- 1. Received the assent of the Governor on April 3, 1985 and published in U.P. Gazette (Extra.), dated 4th April, 1985. 1. Short Title And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Electricity (Duty) (Amendment) Act, 1985. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on October 1, 1984. 2. Amendment Of Section 3 Of U.P. Act Xxxiii Of 1952 :- I n Section 3 of the U.P. Electricity (Duty) Act, 1952, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act,-- (a) in sub-section (1), the following proviso shall be inserted in the end, namely : "Provided that such notification issued after October 1, 1984 but not later than March 31, 1985 may be made effective on or from a prior date not earlier than October 1, 1984." (b) in sub-section (2),-- (i) for the words "twenty five per cent" the words "thirty-five per cent" shall be substituted; (ii) for the words "six paise" the words "eight paise" shall be substituted. (c) in sub-section (5), clause (b) shall be omitted. 3. Repeal And Saving :- (1) The Uttar Pradesh Electricity (Duty) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1985 (U.P. Ordinance No. 4 of 1985), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act as amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (1) shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the principal Act, as amended by this Act, as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
