Act No. 23 Of 1980 Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members Emoluments And Pension) (Amendment) Act, 2008 11 of 2008 An Act further to amend the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluments and Pension) Act, 1980 It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Received the assent of the Governor on March 14, 2008 and published in the U.P. Gazette, Extra., Part 1, Section (Ka), dated 14th March, 2008, pp. 2-3. 1. Short Title And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members Emoluments and Pension) (Amendment) Act, 2008. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on June 1, 2008. 2. Amendment Of Section 5 Of U.P. Act No. 23 Of 1980 :- In the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members Emoluments and Pension) Act, 1980, in Section 5, in sub-section (1) for the words and figures "and not exceeding one lakh fifty thousand rupees per annum from June 1, 2005" the words and figures "and not exceeding one lakh fifty thousand rupees per annum from June 1, 2005 and not exceeding two lakh rupess per annum from June 1, 2008" shall be substituted.
