1. Petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking service benefits from 01.08.2008 to 30.01.2012 and to conclude the pending departmental inquiry initiated against the petitioner way back on 13.10.2008.

2. At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner states that limited prayer herein, at this stage, without adverting to the merits of the case, is that the pending departmental inquiry against the petitioner, which has been going on since 13.10.2008, be concluded expeditiously.

3. Request seems fair.

4. It is expected of the respondents to not keep the petitioner on tenterhooks for no fault of his, since it has already been more than 15 years and yet, there is no outcome either way on the fate of the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with the direction to the competent authority to conclude the inquiry within a period of 3 months from today.

6. Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
