1. The petitioner, who is stated to be the Vicar of St.Thomas Church, Kokkamangalam, Cherthala, seeks a limited prayer to the respondents to afford

adequate protection to maintain law and order during the Annual Feast from 04.04.2024 to 07.04.2024.

2. Sri.Joby Cyriac â€" learned counsel for the petitioner, submitted that his client has been constrained to approach this Court through this Writ Petition

because, it has been the experience in the past that violence and gang fights are unleashed during the feast; and that this is not only deleterious to the

Church, but also to the neighbourhood. He thus reiteratingly prayed that the reliefs sought for in this Writ Petition be granted.

3. Sri.P.M.Shameer â€" learned Government Pleader, submitted that the petitioner need not have approached this Court through this Writ Petition

because his requests, namely Exts.P1 and P2, have already been taken note of by the 2nd respondent â€" Superintendent of Police and necessary

instructions given to the 4th respondent â€" Station House Officer, Cherthala, to afford adequate protection for the conduct of Annual Feast of the

Church.

4. The afore submissions of the learned Government Pleader certainly allays the apprehensions of the petitioner fully, if not substantially.

In the afore circumstances, I dispose of this Writ Petition recording the afore submissions of the learned Government Pleader; with a consequential

direction to the 4th respondent to act diligently to ensure that every act of violence and infraction of law is averted and dealt with to the fullest warrant

of law and that law and order is always maintained in and around the Church during the festivities and thereafter.
