Mr. R. Gurung, learned GA appearing on behalf of the State respondent has fairly conceded that the instructions sought for as far as the status of the investigation of the case against the accused person is concerned, could not be obtained as the Investigating Officer is said to be on medical leave. It is therefore prayed that this matter may be adjourned for the day.

Mr. A. Paramanik, learned counsel for the petitioner has no objection to the prayer made.

Prayer is allowed.

However, it is hereby observed that bail matters usually involved the life and liberty of a person who is in custody, and for which, if a prayer for bail is made, the same has to be disposed of expeditiously. The reason advanced by the learned GA is not tenable, inasmuch as, it is incumbent upon the Investigating Authorities to be diligent in pursuit of their duties.

Be that as it may, on the assurance of the learned GA, matter to be taken up on the next date.

As agreed to by the parties, list this matter on 08.12.2025 for further hearing.
