1. This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to produce the petitioner’s 18 years old daughter namely ‘Pon Tejaswini’, before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. The petitioner is the mother of the detenue. The allegation is that the 3rd respondent who is already a married man, kidnapped the detenue who is aged 18 years and detained her under illegal custody. Based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the 2nd respondent police registered an FIR for ‘Woman Missing’ in Crime No.531 of 2025 on 29.11.2025. However, the 2nd respondent police did not take any effective steps to trace the daughter of the petitioner. Hence, this present petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the 3rd respondent, who is a married man, has detained the daughter of the petitioner under illegal custody. Hence, this Court may direct the respondents 1 and 2/Police, to trace out the whereabouts of the daughter of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2/Police, submitted that the police went in search of the detenue in the address of the 3rd respondent, however neither the 3rd respondent nor the detenue were available in the said address.

5. Taking into consideration the fact that the detenue is aged only 18 years and the 3rd respondent who is alleged to have kidnapped the detenue is a married man, the 2nd respondent/Police is directed to expedite the investigation; trace out the whereabouts of the detenue; secure her within 48 hours and produce her before this Court on 19.12.2025 at 10.30 a.m.

6. Post the matter on 19.12.2025.
